Obituary for William A. Tingue, Sr.

William A. Tingue, Sr. of Franklinville, NY passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the Bertrand-Chaffee Hospital in Springville at the age of 88.

He was born August 2, 1933 in Buffalo, NY a son of the late Delphin and Marie Pauline (Gernatt) Tingue. He was a truck driver for K & R Day Trucking in Elma, NY and was a stock car racer for over 30 years. He won several championships at the local tracks and was the first feature racing winner at the Perry Speedway in the first race that they held. He also enjoyed deer hunting and his beer.

He is survived by his children: William (Donna) Tingue, Jr, of Kentucky, Michael (Pam) Tingue of Delevan, Gene Tingue of Delevan, Doug (Susan) TIngue of Freedom, Dan (Melody Andress) Tingue of Freedom, Connie (Al Andress) Tingue of West Seneca and Melinda Yocum; his daughter-in-law, Debra (Al) Button of Machias; his siblings: Ruth Lavery of Arizona and Dorabelle "Micky" (late Wilford) Oakes of Franklinville; his sisters-in-law: Barb Tingue of Springville and Donna Tingue of Franklinville; also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mona (Wilber) (Boyd) Tingue; his son, Rick Tingue; his siblings: Delphin "Pug" Tingue, Jr., Clarence "Bub" (Betty) Tingue, Norman "Pete" (Loretta) Tingue, Duane Tingue, Sr., Lois (Dick) Oakes and Ella (Harley) Hawkins.

There will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
