Obituary for Virginia M. Rung
Virginia M. (Butler) Rung of Delevan, NY passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Houghton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at the age of 96.
She was born May 1, 1926 in Sardinia, NY a daughter of the late Clifford and Doris (Smith) Butler. She was a charter member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Arcade and was a 1943 graduate of Sardinia High School. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and knitting.
Her husband, John A. Rung who she married on April 3, 1948 in Sardinia, passed away on October 16, 2018.
She is survived by her children: James (Jodi) Rung of Naples, NY, Gary (Margie) Rung of Arcade, Curtis (Susan) Rung of Friendship, NY, Dennis Rung of Arizona and Ken (Melody) Rung of Delevan; her sister-in-law: Jean Butler of Surprise, AZ. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she predeceased by her sons, John Rung, Jr. and Jeff Rung; her siblings: Genevieve Baker, Clifford Butler and Lillian Czerwinski.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 1pm at the Hope Lutheran Church, 2 E. Main St., Arcade. Final interment will be held in Sardinia Cemetery.
