Obituary for Robert G. Hinckley
Robert G. Hinckley of Holland, NY passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022 at the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home in Springville, NY at the age of 85.
He was born June 15, 1937 in Wellsville, NY a son of the late Edward and Rowena (Wilkins) Hinckley. He was a United States Navy Veteran and served from 1957-1962. He was also a member of the U.S.S. Little Rock Association as well as a member of the Protection United Methodist Church in Holland. He enjoyed woodworking.
He was an electrician for Republic Steel in Buffalo and had also worked at Blue Seal in Arcade.
His wife, Mary "Arlene" (Purdy) Hinckley whom he married on October 2, 1965 in Sandusky, NY, passed away on August 27, 2018.
He is survived by his children: Glenn (Tina) Hinckley of Arcade, Michael (Jennifer) Hinckley of Delevan, Jerry Bennett of Delevan, Dennis (Lisa) Bennett of Dalton, and Clayton (Deborah) Bennett of Sardinia; his sister, Sheila (John) Rotchild of Florida; his sister-in-law, Marylind Purdy of Holland; also survived by 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Norton Barnes.
Friends may call on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 2PM-4PM and 6PM-8PM at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade, where a Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 10AM with Rev. Wilbur Pollock officiating. Final interment with military honors will follow in Curriers Cemetery, Arcade.
