Obituary for Richard F. Jordan

Richard F. Jordan of Delevan, NY passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Pines Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Machias at the age of 75.

Richard lived a life most of us dream about. He was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran and served from 1969-1976. He was an army mechanic in which he was stationed in both Alaska and Germany. His time in Alaska was spent caribou hunting and running his sled dogs. He would talk to his friends and family for hours about his army life.

He was also a race car driver at Freedom Raceway for a time. He was a jack-of-all-trades and there wasn't much he couldn't do. He loved ice fishing, hunting and having a cold beer with his friends. Later in life, he enjoyed spending his time with his family and few close friends.

Richard was born on October 16, 1947 a son of the late Elaine Jordan. He was later adopted by his late Uncle Raymond and Aunt Marintha Wiedemann.

He is survived by his loving wife, Paulette (Gilbert) Jordan whom he married on July 30, 1988 in Delevan; his children: Kelly (Scott) Breton of Sandusky, NY, Antonia Sorrentino of Alden, Samantha (Daniel) Beaman of Delevan and Richard Jordan, Jr. of Delevan. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Madison, Walker, Anna and Lacy whom he loved dearly as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John D. Wiedemann and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in Sardinia Cemetery.
