Obituary for Rev. Gordin D. Chitty
Rev. Gordin D. Chitty of Arcade, NY passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at his residence at the age of 80.
He was born August 19, 1942 in Xenia, OH a son of the late Nathan Hugh and Mary Pauline (Gordin) Chitty. He loved to snowmobile and was a member of the Elton Baptist Church. He obtained his BS degree from Cedarville University in Ohio and his MS degree in Theology at the Dallas Seminary in Dallas, TX. He was a pastor for a total of 52 years.
He was the retired pastor at the Elton Baptist Church in Delevan where he served for 27 years.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathy (Sprigg) Chitty whom he married on June 1, 1968 in Xenia, OH; his children: Lynette (Roy) Pemberton of Sandusky, Brian (Stacy) Chitty of Delevan, Kim (Bill) Clester of Delevan and Matthew (Kara) Chitty of Machias; his siblings: Janet (Leon) Holbrook and Phillip Chitty both of Beaver Creek, OH; his eight grandchildren: Megan (Kyle) Curry, Kaelyn and Jared Pemberton, Allison, Joshua, Caleb, Zachary and Carson Chitty; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no prior visitation. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11am at the Elton Baptist Church, 10331 Marble Springs Rd., Delevan, NY 14042 where Pastor Scott Clark will officiate. Interment will be held in Delevan Cemetery.
