Obituary for Mary J. Hedges
Mary J. Hedges of Geneseo, NY passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at her residence at the age of 72.
She was born April 3, 1949 in Warsaw, NY a daughter of the late Albert and Dorothy (O'Donnell) Hedges. She was raised in Bliss and graduated from Letchworth High School in 1967. She had resided in Rochester for 43 years and was employed at Kodak for 30+ years and retired from Wal-Mart in Greece, NY after 8 years. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Eagle Memorial Post #1720 in Bliss. She enjoyed her family, eating out, dancing, traveling, nature and small animals. Most importantly, she loved being a mother to her son, Paul for almost 25 years and her cats, Scratchy and Itty Bit.
Mary is survived by her brothers: Patrick Hedges of Bliss and Kenneth (Patricia) Hall of Pike; her nieces: Susan, Maureen and Kathleen Hall; her nephews: Jason and Jeffery Hedges and Anthony and Andrew Derk; her great-niece, Sydney Hedges; her great-nephews: Austin and Quintin Hedges; also survived by several cousins.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her son, Paul Hedges; her brother, Michael Hedges and her niece, Makayla Derk.
Friends may call on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11am at St. Mary's Church, 417 W. Main St., Arcade with Rev. Michael LaMarca officiating. Interment will be held in Lyonsburg Cemetery in Bliss.
