Obituary for John C. Witt
John C. Witt of Arcade, NY passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at the New York State Veterans' Home in Batavia at the age of 77.
He was born May 22, 1945 in Monticello, AR a son of the late Gilbert and Kathleen (Bogurt) Witt, Sr. He was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran and served from 1966-1968. He was also a member of the Arcade Senior Citizens and enjoyed bowling.
He was a retired truck driver and had worked for Slocum's in Farmersville and was the former caretaker of Freedom Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Heppel) Witt whom he married October 26, 1991 in Arcade; his children: Angela Witt of Sardinia, Lisa Marie Witt of Salamanca, Charles (Patricia) Witt of Machias, Kenneth (Jennifer) Bellomo of Chaffee, Sam (Renee) Bellomo of West Falls, Tina Maria (Bart) Blum of Arcade; his siblings: Alan Witt of Arcade, Keith Witt of Canaseraga, NY, and Nancy Witt of Castile; also survived by 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Louis Bellomo, and siblings: Gilbert Witt, Jr. and Martha Bray.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St. Arcade where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 10am with Rev. Wayne Aarum officiating. Final interment will be held at Freedom Cemetery.
