Obituary for Howard K. Offhaus III

Howard K. Offhaus, III of Java Village, NY passed away Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH at the age of 68.

He was born September 5, 1953 in Quantico, VA a son of the late Howard and Betty (Mingle) Offhaus, Jr. He was a member of the N- SSA as well as the Java Village Baptist Church. He was a United States Marine Vietnam Veteran and served from 1970-1973.

He was a Correctional Officer and firearms Instructor at the Wyoming Correctional Facility in Attica, NY. He was also a weapons and police instructor.

He is survived by his wife, Rose (nee Stephen) Offhaus, whom he married September 20, 1974 at the Wales Hollow Community Lutheran Church; his children: Tara (Jeff) Barker of North Canton, OH, Stephenie (Michael) Petrie of Arcade, Mathew Offhaus of Java Village and Brooke Offhaus of Merced, CA; his siblings: Deborah (Edward) Stemper of Holland, Darryl (Lynn) Offhaus of Java Village, Randy (Peaches) Offhaus of Florida, Kimberly Offhaus of Florida, and Timothy (Sue) Offhaus of Florida; his grandchildren: Victoria, Grace, Krysta, Drew, Hagen, Divine, Lorenzo and Tyler; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Yvonne and Norman Offhaus.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022 at 11AM at the Java Village Baptist Church with Pastor J. Michael Nace officiating. Final interment will be held at the Java Village Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Rose's residence.
