Obituary for George A. Norton
George A. Norton of Arcade, NY passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw at the age of 82.
He was born December 11, 1939 in Hornell, NY a son of the late Merlin and Ila (O'Laughlin) Norton. He was a member of the Arcade United Church of Christ Congregational. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and antiquing.
He was a meat and deli specialist supervisor for 40 years at Fleming's in Cheektowaga. He had also worked for ACME Markets and Peter J. Schmitt.
George is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Brown) Norton whom he married on July 23, 1960 in Arkport; his children: Jeffery (Kathy) Norton of Delevan and Jennifer (Fred) Diedrich of Middleburg, VT; his grandchildren: Aaron, Connor and Noelle Norton and Sam and Nate Diedrich; also survived by several nieces.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Eldon (Maryanne) Norton, Audrey (Bob) Doan, Joanne (Keith) Glover and five nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in Arcade Rural Cemetery.
