Obituary for Gene S. Eastland
Gene S. Eastland of Delevan, NY passed away October 9, 2022 at his residence at the age of 83.
He was born May 27, 1939 in Springville, NY a son of the late Carlyle and Doris (Woodard) Eastland.
Gene worked as a truck driver for R.P.S. out of Buffalo, NY and retired from the Town of Yorkshire Highway Department after working there for 12 years.
He enjoyed hunting, cutting firewood, and spending time with his family and friends. He often could be found sitting in the garage listening to Classic Country music. Gene also took great pride in being the caretaker of the McKinstry Cemetery in Delevan.
His beloved wife, Sharon (Law) Eastland, whom he married April 27, 1963 in Yorkshire, NY passed away November 15, 2006.
He is survived by his children: Tammy (Christopher Castle) Bossinger of Adams, NY, Cindy (Jeff) Bossinger of Delevan, NY, Charles (Julie) Eastland of Parker, CO; his sister: Shirley (late Ron) Kriedeman; also survived by eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Gene's beloved four legged companion, Max also survives.
In addition to his parents and wife, Gene is preceded in death by his daughter, Ronda Eastland; his siblings, Diane Koch and Duane "Tim" Eastland; his son-in-law, Joel Bossinger, and grandson, Joshua Smith.
Friends may call Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 11am-2pm at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main Street, Arcade where a Funeral Service will follow at 2pm with Pastor Josh Bower officiating. Interment will be held in the McKinstry Cemetery in Delevan, NY.
