Obituary for Gail M. Boorman

Gail M. Boorman of Arcade, NY passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at her residence at the age of 73.

She was born February 2, 1950 in Lackawanna, NY and was a daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Mample) Norton. She was a member of the former St. Patrick's Church in Java Center and enjoyed reading, scuba diving and traveling. She was also the past president of the Alfred Alumni Association. During her travels, she visited all 50 states and 27 countries including the Philippines, China, Japan, North and South Vietnam, Africa, Singapore, Figi, Morocco, Ireland, Italy, England, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Panama, Jamaica, Columbia and Cambodia. She was also a member of the Monday afternoon Ladies Group in the Philippines.

Gail was a self-employed travel agent and owned and operated Serendipity Travel in Warsaw. She was also a past secretary for Blaw-Knox in Buffalo.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Boorman who she married on November 26, 1970 in Blasdell; her sons: Andrew (Ashley) Boorman of Rochester, Jeremy (Hilary) Boorman of Java and Brian (Michelle) Boorman of Java; four grandchildren: Gregory, Austyn, Makenzie and Brody; her sister, Karen (late Jerry) Valvo of Silver Creek; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 11am at the St. John Neumann Church (St. Cecilia's Site), 991 Centerline Rd., Strykersville, NY 14145 with Rev. John Arogyasami officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Java Center.
