Obituary for Frederick L. Atwater

Frederick L. Atwater of Yorkshire, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Olean General Hospital at the age of 88.

He was born December 10, 1933 in Franklinville, a son of the late Wesley and Gertrude (Waklee) Atwater. He was a retired maintenance worker for Forsyth Industries in East Aurora. Additionally, he was a member of the Buffalo Club of the Deaf, and in his free time he enjoyed tinkering in his shop.

He is survived by his wife, Frances (Cox) Atwater, whom he married April 17, 1976 in Rochester. He is also survived by his sons: Richard (Janet) Atwater of Falkville AL, John (Kim) Atwater of Irvington, AL, Walter (April) Spalti of Wagoner, OK, and Timothy (Michelle) Moulton of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren: Shane, Josh (Misty), Ashely, Timothy, Jonathan, David, Ben, Mandy and Fritz; great-grandchildren: Leah, Jaden, Hunter, Jared, Dean, Gaige, Laci, Hannah, Michael, Timmy Jr., Jordan Lynn, Payton, ManMan, and Fritz Jr.; brother-in-law, William Cox of Rochester; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Mary Hull, Pearl Brown, Bessie Schmidt, James Atwater, Charles Atwater, William Atwater, Donald Atwater, Richard Atwater, and Roy Atwater.

Friends may call on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 3-5pm at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., where a Funeral Service will be held at 5pm. Final interment will take place at White Haven Memorial Park in Rochester.
