Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" A. Owens
Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Owens (formerly Brunner), age 86, passed away peacefully at her home in Java Center on Thursday, December 22, 2022.
Betty was born on July 19, 1936, to Tony and Elizabeth (Wright) Wesley and was a graduate of the Delevan-Machias School.
Betty was a devoted mother, dedicated sister, cherished grandmother, and dear friend to many.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Kara) Brunner of Sandusky, NY; her grandchildren, Jamie Fronckowiak, Kade Brunner, and Makenzy Brunner; her brothers, Frank Wesley of Delevan and Joe (Sue) Wesley of Yorkshire; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vincent Brunner; her second husband, Donald Owens; her son, Kevin Brunner; her brothers Allan (infant) and James Wesley.
Besides spending quality time with her friends and family, Betty had a passion for daily crossword puzzles, playing BINGO, antiquing, gardening, baking, and doting over her grandchildren. Betty had a personality that was both bold and bright, and her wit, wisdom, and sense of humor were one in a million. Betty will forever be remembered for her fiery spirit that touched everyone she met.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 29th from 11am - 1pm at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade with a Funeral Service to follow at 1pm with Deacon John Zielinski officiating. Interment will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Java Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the North Java or Strykersville Fire Departments.
