Obituary for Daniel J. Petrie, Sr.
Daniel J. Petrie, Sr. of Java Village, NY passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the Pines Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Machias at the age of 76.
He was born October 19, 1945 in Warsaw, NY a son of the late Edward and Estella (Murphy) Petrie. He was a member of the Java Village Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as his Monday's at Kent Auction. He pulled tractors for many years and was also a member of Upstate Niagara Co-Op and held a Dairy of Distinction Award.
Dan was a retired dairy farmer at Petrie Farms in Java Village.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia (Brown) (Nuwer) Petrie whom he married on February 18, 1995 in Java Village; his children: Tammy (Trace) George of North Java, Mike (Stephenie) Petrie of Java Village, Lisa (Greg) Almeter of Attica, Lori (Jai Pena) Petrie of Arcade and Danny (Stacy) Petrie, Jr. of Java Village; his step-children: Jim (Marolyn) Nuwer of Freedom and Kristine (Scott) Lockwood of Colden; his siblings: Mary (Henry) Zulawski of Cheektowaga and Carol (Bob) Uplinger of Holland; also survived by 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call on Monday, October 24, 2022 from 1-3pm and 5-7pm at the W.S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St., Arcade. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 11am at the Java Village Baptist Church, 4552 Rt. 78, Java Village, NY 14083 with Rev. J. Michael Nace officiating. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery in Strykersville.
