Obituary for Amy Ruth Church

Amy Ruth Church, 86, entered The Church Triumphant early in the morning on January 27, 2023 at Pruitt Health-Barnwell, South Carolina. Amy truly “fought the good fight, finished her race and kept the faith” as scripture states in 2 Timothy 4:7

Amy Ruth Everts was born on November 20, 1936 in New Hudson, NY to Reverend Adrian Everts and Grace Haradon Everts and was the eldest of three girls. (Amy, Norva and Carol) She was also a sister to three fostered/adopted siblings. (Jack, Geraldine and Irene Harris)

A very intelligent, Amy Everts, graduated as the Class of 1954 Salutatorian from Lyndonville Central School. She was very active in school including being the Class Treasurer, Yearbook Assistant Editor-In-Chief, as well as a Charter Member of the Lambda Chi Sigma Honor Society. She was extremely talented in music, art, writing and bookkeeping.

After graduation Amy married Robert “Bob” Dean Church on September 18, 1955. Amy worked several jobs while Bob completed his Air Force commitment as a Cryptographer during the Korean War. After several other working positions Bob and Amy began their own business, ARC Power Systems, with Amy being the major shareholder, and bookkeeper. Amy was also very well known for her work at Montgomery Ward in Springville, NY where the couple lived and raised a family for 63 years. Amy loved to travel and was always driving her car long distances.

Amy leaves behind her beloved children, Scott (Bonnie) Church, Stephen Church, Rebecca (Jeff) Ramsey, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren as well as her loving and devoted sister Carol Esala and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Church, Daughter DeAnne Reukauf, Grandson Craig Reukauf, sister Norva Everts McCracken, and adopted siblings, Jack, Geraldine and Irene Harris.

A private graveside service and internment was held on February 4, 2023 at Sardinia Cemetery, Sardinia, NY under the direction of W.S. Davis Funeral Home, Arcade, NY.
