Obituary for Alvin D. Vogel
Alvin D. Vogel of Freedom, NY passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home in Springville at the age of 81.
He was born February 6, 1941 in Sheldon, IA, the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Bomgaar) Vogel. He was a crossroad truck driver for Bennett's Trucking, Inc. in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He enjoyed doing lawn work, going for walks and spending time with his dogs. He was also a member of the Rushford Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen (Wentworth) Vogel, whom he married August 25, 1993 in Rushford, NY; his children: Marsha Vogel of Des Moines, IA, Cynthia (James) Pennys of Indiana, and Michael (Ruth) Vogel of Sheldon, IA; his sister: Frances (Roger) DeKraft of Hull, IA; also survived by 25 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Norman (Wilma) Vogel and Arnold Vogel; as well as one grandson.
There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11am at the Rushford Baptist Church, 9016 Main St. Rushford, NY. Final interment will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Friendship, NY.
